Program and faculty 2024 : ISCEP 2024

Introduction

The 53rd international 10-day residential teaching seminar on Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention, to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This training programme is organized jointly by the International Society of Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention (ISCEP 2024) and the Clinical Trials Unit, University of Kelaniya and RemediumOne with support from Sri Lanka College of Cardiology.

About ISCEP

Founded in 1966, ISCEP has been at the forefront of the global effort to combat cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Over the past five decades, the organization has been instrumental in providing high-quality training in CVD epidemiology and prevention. ISCEP’s annual seminars have trained nearly 2,000 fellows from over 100 countries, many of whom have become influential figures in the field of CVD research and prevention. Additionally, ISCEP has successfully hosted six International Conferences on Preventive Cardiology, convening thousands of experts to discuss advancements and policy developments in CVD prevention.

The 53rd Ten-Day Seminar

This year’s seminar will focus on foundational epidemiologic principles, concepts, and methods, with a special emphasis on biostatistics, all illustrated through practical examples from CVD epidemiology and prevention. The seminar aims to foster international collaboration among cardiologists, clinician-scientists, and epidemiologists, thereby enhancing global knowledge and expertise in CVD prevention. The seminar will be led by a distinguished faculty of 10 scientific leaders from global centers of excellence in the field of CVD research.
