Halting Opioid Abuse

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) estimates 115 people in United States (US) die from opioid over dose. According to NIDA, in 2015, over 33,000 US individuals did from an opioid over dose and another 2 million were living with opioid abuse disorders. 29% of the patients who are prescribed the pain relievers tend to abuse them. To overcome this, a morphine like AT-121 drug was developed to:

1)    Block opioid addition

2)    To relive chronic pain
